In 2024, the City of Stamford received grant funding from the State of Connecticut to construct a new high school on the current 32-acre site at Westhill High School.
The new high school supports long term goals for the City and Stamford Public Schools and the construction will use readily available materials, be aesthetically compatible with the surrounding environment, and meet or surpass LEED Silver Certification's environmental goal.
The City has retained architects The S/L/A/M Collaborative and Amenta Emma to lead the design from Concept Design through Construction. Collier's Project Leaders is facilitating project budgeting, design review, coordination, and construction monitoring.
A construction access road via Long Ridge is being built to accommodate the campus-wide construction, which is beginning in April 2026. The work is phased so that the existing school will remain in operation during the construction of the new building.
