Our History
The second-largest city in Connecticut, Stamford has over 16,000 students in its school district. Stamford Public Schools (SPS) offers students a learning experience rich in cultural diversity and reflective of the global society in which they will work and live.
Promoting Equity, Inclusion and Understanding
Stamford Public Schools are places where diversity and inclusion are fostered and embraced. We work collectively to support students, staff and community partners to work toward the goal of providing equitable opportunities for all students in order to minimize achievement and opportunity gaps.
Diversity in SPS
The mission of SPS is to provide an education that cultivates productive habits of mind, body and heart in every student. SPS is a learning organization that continuously improves its effective, innovative and transformational teaching and learning. Its vision is to challenge, inspire and prepare all students to be productive contributing members of society.
